HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital is proudly celebrating National EMS Week by recognizing the extraordinary dedication and lifesaving work of emergency medical services (EMS) professionals throughout the community.
Observed each year in May, National EMS Week provides an opportunity to thank paramedics, EMTs and other first responders who serve on the front lines of emergency care. Throughout the week, HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital and its freestanding emergency rooms HCA Florida Tamiami Trail Emergency and HCA Florida Cape Coral Emergency, are welcoming local EMS partners for a series of special events designed to show appreciation and strengthen the hospital’s longstanding partnership with these essential healthcare professionals.
“Our EMS partners are often the first point of contact for patients during some of the most critical moments of their lives,” said Philip Marchesini, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital. “Their skill, compassion and commitment are vital to the continuum of care, and EMS Week is a meaningful opportunity for us to express our gratitude for all they do for our patients and our communities.”
The weeklong celebration features daily activities and complimentary meals, including popular local food trucks. EMS professionals are also participating in a variety of friendly competitions and games, including:
- Golf challenge
- Cornhole tournament
- Basketball hoops tournament
- Dunk tank
“Our relationship with EMS is built on trust, teamwork and a mutual commitment to saving lives,” said Vicky Boyette, director of emergency services at HCA Florida Fawcett Hospital. “We are honored to recognize these dedicated professionals and celebrate the impact they make every day.”
