Oncology refers to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Oncology treatments may include chemotherapy, radiation, medication or surgery. Oncologists can specialize in one of three fields of oncology: medical, radiation or surgery.

As a Community Cancer Program accredited by The American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer, we are proud to provide you with comprehensive cancer services.  

Cancer treatments and services

Some treatments and services of our oncology program include:

  • Advanced surgery, including minimally invasive procedures
  • Chemotherapy administration
  • Infusion of blood products
  • Management of chemotherapy side effects
  • Pain management
  • Specialized care for patients and their families when facing a terminal diagnosis
  • Collaboration with hospice to provide compassionate end-of-life care

Lung cancer screenings

We offer lung cancer screenings using low-dose computerized tomography (CT) scans. With this technology, you are exposed to a minimal amount of radiation. If lung cancer is detected, we can provide comprehensive lung cancer care.

Cancer support services

We invite anybody facing cancer, survivors of cancer and their family and friends to join our Cancer Support Group. Physicians and other professionals will periodically speak to the group regarding cancer-related issues. If you do not want to participate in the group actively, we understand and encourage you to come and listen.

Our full-service oncology unit

Our oncology unit is located on the third floor of the hospital and has 16 beds dedicated to patients with cancer. 

Cancer care team

Our oncologists specialize in oncological and hematological diagnoses. To stay current on the latest research and recommendations, our team members participate in continuing education, cancer conferences, webinars and speaking engagements.

All of our oncology nurses hold Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) chemotherapy/immunotherapy certifications. We also have an active tumor board on-site. The tumor board allows physicians and staff from different areas of expertise to come together and discuss complex cancer cases.
