UCF Lake Nona Hospital recognized for quality excellence
Orlando, FL — UCF Lake Nona Hospital, part of HCA Florida Healthcare, today announced it has received a grade of A from The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog organization focused on patient safety. The top national ranking reflects the hospital’s commitment to high-quality patient care and protecting its patients from infections, injuries and accidents.
This latest accolade is among several awards and recognitions for safety, quality of healthcare, and patient experience UCF Lake Nona Hospital has received from state and industry groups since it opened in Lake Nona’s Medical City in 2021. In addition to this week’s A rating from The Leapfrog Group, awards and accolades include:
- 2025 Healthgrades Five-Star Recipient for Treatment of Pneumonia
- 2024 Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award for Excellence in Emergency Nursing
- 2022 HCA Healthcare Units of Distinction award for Surgical Services
- 2022 HCA Healthcare Units of Distinction award for Intensive Care Unit
- 2022 Excellence for Maternal Care Award from the Florida Department of Health and the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration
- 2021 HCA Healthcare Units of Distinction award for 24/7 Emergency Department
- 2021 Named the first Innovation Hub by HCA Healthcare

The hospital has also achieved a number of milestones with its patients this year, including celebrating its 5,000th baby born in the hospital’s family birthing unit, and the recent completion of the hospital’s inaugural cardiac ablation procedure, providing another treatment option for eligible patients with irregular heartbeats.
Additionally, Brandon was named to the 2025 Florida Trend Magazine’s Florida 500, recognizing the state’s most influential business leaders across various industries. The 500 executives featured were selected after months of in-depth research, hundreds of interviews, and extensive connections within regional business circles.
