Volunteer opportunities
Volunteer opportunities are available in a variety of areas throughout the hospital, including:
- Guest services and information desks
- Patient support
- Emergency room
- Surgical waiting areas
- Event coordination
- Transport services
- Administrative and support departments
Our volunteer coordinator works closely with each volunteer to find an assignment that aligns with their interests, skills and availability.

Volunteer requirements
All volunteers must meet the following requirements:
- At least 16 years of age
- Completion of orientation
- Clear background check
- Annual flu shot or signed declination (provided by the hospital)
- Annual tuberculosis (TB) screening (provided by the hospital)
Volunteer commitment expectations
Adult volunteers (18+)
Adult volunteers are asked to commit to a weekly four-hour shift for a minimum of six months.
Teen and junior volunteers
HCA Florida encourages teens and young adults to apply, especially those interested in a future career in healthcare. Teen volunteers are expected to balance school and extracurricular activities while maintaining a weekly volunteer shift for a minimum of three months.
Parental or guardian consent is required for all teen volunteers.
