Community members can learn how to save a life during free Stop the Bleed® and Hands-Only CPR training sessions offered by HCA Florida Healthcare this August in Bradenton, Venice and Fort Myers.
Stop the Bleed® training will be offered at all three locations. Hands-Only CPR training will also be available at the Venice and Fort Myers sessions.
According to the American Heart Association, more than 350,000 cardiac arrests occur outside of hospitals each year, and hands-only CPR can double or even triple a person's chance of survival. Uncontrolled bleeding, the leading cause of preventable death after trauma, can become fatal within minutes, making immediate bystander action critical.

Sessions will be led by specially trained emergency care professionals. During Stop the Bleed® training, participants will learn how to:
- Recognize life-threatening bleeding emergencies.
- Control severe bleeding using direct pressure and wound packing.
- Respond confidently until emergency medical personnel arrive.
Participants attending the Venice and Fort Myers sessions will also learn the two simple steps of Hands-Only CPR to help someone experiencing sudden cardiac arrest.
