Yuliana's story

When Yuliana left HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital cradling her newborn son, her heart was full. On the very same day her oldest son turned 18, Yuliana was heading home with her new baby boy. And both children were born at the hospital, making this a special full-circle moment in her family’s story.

“I got kind of emotional this morning because 18 years ago, I delivered my baby. And now, 18 years later, I’m taking my new son home,” Yuliana said.

That experience helped her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse blossom, and today, she works in the ER at the very same hospital.

This delivery was different — a successful VBAC after a previous C-section. “My doctor was amazing, guiding me through the whole process,” Yuliana said. Avoiding another surgery was a huge relief, and the team’s support gave her confidence every step of the way.

Even as a nurse, Yuliana felt cared for in ways that mattered most. “They treated me great overall. Whenever I called, they were there for me whenever I needed,” she shared. Being on the other side of care gave her a new perspective: “You have more empathy when you’re the one on the bed… and to see my colleagues providing the care I know they do for every patient was so touching.”
