Our cardiology program
To best care for your heart, we offer a wide range of cardiovascular services personalized to your specific condition.
Cardiac catheterization lab (cath lab)
The specialists in our cath lab use a thin, flexible tube called a catheter to reach your heart and blood vessels through a small incision. Led by interventional cardiologists, our experienced team is committed to diagnosing and treating heart conditions through minimally invasive techniques.
These advanced diagnostic and interventional procedures allow us to:
- Detect blockages or narrowing that may lead to heart attack or other serious conditions
- Evaluate the structure and function of the heart’s chambers and valves
- Visualize blood flow through coronary arteries
During the procedure, we take detailed X-ray images that will help inform your diagnosis. To do this, a safe contrast dye is injected through the catheter.
Our vascular services
We offer both nonsurgical and surgical treatments for your vascular condition. To help determine which treatment is best for you, we use diagnostic imaging techniques, including:
- Arteriograms
- Echocardiograms
- Electrocardiograms
- Doppler ultrasonography
- Ultrasounds
- Stress tests
Vascular conditions we treat
Our cardiovascular doctors offer medical intervention for conditions impacting your veins and arteries. Some of the vascular conditions we treat include:
- Aneurysms
- Atherosclerosis ("hardened" arteries)
- Cardiac arrest
- Carotid stenosis
- Cerebrovascular accident (stroke)
- High blood pressure (hypertension)
- Low blood pressure (hypotension)
- Venous insufficiency
Peripheral vascular disease (PVD)
PVD is a gradual condition that involves narrowed or blocked blood vessels, most commonly in the legs. Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is one of the most common types of PVD. With PAD, the arteries, most often in the legs, are affected.
Vascular surgery
When diet, exercise, medication and other noninvasive treatment options are ineffective, your vascular specialist may recommend surgery. Our vascular surgeons perform a range of procedures, including:
- Bypass surgeries
- Cardiac ablations
- Valve repair procedures
- Valve replacement procedures
Structural heart procedures
We lead the way in heart and vascular surgery by advancing the latest techniques to deliver the most beneficial treatments possible. Some of these procedures include transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and transcatheter mitral valve replacement (TMVR).
