Minimally invasive joint replacement surgery
Minimally invasive joint replacement surgery enables your surgeon to repair a damaged joint while minimizing trauma to surrounding tissue. Potential benefits of this type of surgical procedure include a shorter hospital stay, faster recovery and smaller scars.
We use an advanced robotic surgical system to perform total and partial knee replacements and total hip replacements.
Minimally invasive hip surgery
We offer a less invasive approach, also known as the anterior approach, to traditional hip replacement. This technique allows you to bend your hips more quickly after surgery, helping you return to your daily activities faster.
Minimally invasive knee replacement
For a minimally invasive knee replacement, we use computerized tomography (CT) scans to build a 3D model of your knee anatomy. Your surgeon then uses this model to create a personalized surgical plan. This technology also allows your surgeon to modify the surgery during the procedure, if needed, which leads to a better prosthesis fit.
Pain management
If you are undergoing orthopedic surgery, we will work with you to determine the type of anesthesia and pain medication you will receive. Our orthopedic team, anesthesiologists and pharmacists will be there for you to help manage your pain and make you as comfortable as possible during and after your surgery.
Orthopedic rehabilitation
To help you successfully recover from your procedure, we offer physical therapy and rehabilitation services.
Physical rehabilitation after orthopedic surgery begins at The Gym Joint, which was established to help you begin the recovery process during your hospital stay. Your care plan may include light stretching, mat exercises and training on low-intensity exercise equipment.
Our physical therapy team is dedicated to helping you gain confidence and improve your mobility after surgery.
Total joint replacement education
If you are scheduled for a joint replacement procedure, we offer a free class to help you prepare for surgery. The Total Joint class provides you with the following:
- An opportunity to ask questions and discuss your surgery
- Information about the surgical process
- Guidance from case managers, nurses and physical therapists
- Preparation for the recovery process and pain management
We offer this class every other Tuesday from 10:00am to 11:00am in the classroom on the first floor of hospital.
