Hospital nurse, therapist, physician and volunteers recognized for humanitarian work

Sarasota, FL — HCA Healthcare has a long tradition of celebrating colleagues and hospital volunteers whose work caring for patients and the community goes beyond what is expected. These humanitarians are awarded with the organization’s highest honor, the HCA Healthcare Awards of Distinction, which include the Frist Humanitarian Award and the Excellence in Nursing Award. These awards showcase exceptional individuals whose professional and personal lives reflect the patient-centered and humanitarian values upon which HCA Healthcare was founded. Recently HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital recognized the following:

Kyle McCreight: Occupational Therapist (OT) with the Frist Humanitarian Award. McCreight has worked as an OT at the hospital for seven years. He has competed professionally as a ninja athlete since 2018 and competed on two seasons of NBC’s American Ninja Warrior. He combined his OT background with his American Ninja Warrior experience to form Sunshine Ninja Therapy in 2020. The program was designed for children with hyperactivity and sensory processing disorders using ninja warrior style obstacles as a form of sensory integration. Kyle currently volunteers his time with the Never Say Never Foundation. On his time away from work, he goes to their camps in North Florida to work with children with prosthetic limbs.

Tarsha Butler, RN: Manager of Medical Surgical Unit with the Excellence in Nursing Award/Professional Mentoring award. Butler was recognized for her work ethic and leadership. She also invests in the future of nursing by working with nursing students and setting an example for them to follow with her support, follow through and compassion.

Jeanine Mylett, MD: with the Frist Humanitarian Award Physician. Dr. Mylett is a board-certified pulmonologist and critical care specialist. She has served the Sarasota-Bradenton region for more than two decades. She helped establish the Internal Medicine Residency Program at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital, and continues to serve as Critical Care faculty and Simulation Lab Director. Her mentorship and dedication are shaped a culture of excellence and empathy with new physicians. She has also served as Chief of Staff at both HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital and HCA Florida Blake Hospital, Chair of Internal Medicine, member of the Medical Executive Committee, and member of the Board of Trustees at HCA Florida Sarasota Doctors Hospital. She has received “Doctor of the Year” honors at both hospitals. Dr. Mylett and her husband have devoted years to greyhound rescue, demonstrating a deep compassion that extends beyond the hospital walls.

Richard and Margie Nasiff: Volunteers with the Frist Humanitarian Award. They have contributed 3,500 hours of service to the hospital between them. Richard is well-known for his role driving the courtesy cart and Margie volunteers at the information desk and with patient discharges. They are also active in their church and in other community organizations.
