Newly renovated pediatric emergency room celebration at HCA Florida Kendall Hospital
Miami, FL — HCA Florida Kendall Hospital, a 424-bed facility and part of HCA Florida Healthcare, proudly hosted a ribbon cutting and media tour on Tuesday, July 22 to unveil its newly renovated Pediatric Emergency Room — a state-of-the-art facility designed to deliver expert, compassionate care for children in the community.
The event welcomed elected officials, physicians, care team members, and media guests to explore the cutting-edge space and meet the dedicated team behind the hospital’s pediatric services.
The redesigned Pediatric Emergency Room serves as a cornerstone of Kendall’s comprehensive pediatric network, which also includes a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and a Pediatric Trauma & Burn Program. Together, these services provide advanced, multidisciplinary care to over 13,000 pediatric patients each year.
“We take care of the most critically ill pediatric patients in the region, and this renovation reflects our unwavering commitment to ensuring children receive safe, compassionate, and expert care when they need it most,” said Ben Harris, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. “We are proud to continue our legacy of providing family-centered, specialized care for the youngest members of our community.”
The hospital’s pediatric services feature a full spectrum of specialties, including Cardiology, Neurology, Burn & Trauma, Emergency Medicine, Surgery, Infectious Disease, Therapy Services, and more — supported by pediatric-focused pharmacists, nurses, child life specialists, nutrition support, and advanced trauma and resuscitation programs.
