Welcome from our Program Director

Our Program launched in 2015, and received continued accreditation by the ACGME in 2017. We offer a three-year training residency with 39 positions. Our sponsoring institution is Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, GA.

Orange Park Medical Center is a full-service, acute care hospital located in the heart of Orange Park, providing medical care to the Clay County and surrounding communities. Orange Park is located near a myriad of sunny beaches and multiple area attractions. It enjoys the benefits of the Jacksonville, Florida metropolitan area with beaches, professional sports teams and theater, just to name a few.

Orange Park Medical Center provides residents with a state of the art 365-bed community teaching hospital and specialty facilities such as Stroke Program, Inpatient Rehabilitation Program, three Emergency Department locations and a Level 2 Trauma Center. During their training, the residents rotate in various settings including the Palms Medical Group, a Federally Qualified Health Care, a not-for-profit that provides affordable primary care and preventative services while enhancing resident education and exposure to a broad spectrum of patients.

Our program is dedicated to train outstanding physicians in an academic and collegial environment that offers ample clinical and research opportunities. We strive to help our residents reach their maximum potential and achieve their long-term goals; including fellowship training at our institution or other recognized academic centers. Residents will apply their knowledge and interpersonal skills to provide outstanding and compassionate care treating disease as well as promoting health in the community. They are held to the highest standards of professionalism.

The faculty are dynamic, highly motivated and take pride in mentoring our residents to become excellent physicians who will positively impact our society in the future. They are committed to ensure that each trainee's educational needs are fulfilled while delivering high-quality, patient-centered, evidenced-based care.
